Bavarian bass Andreas Hörl (Daland) studied under Kurt Moll and has been a member of the ensembles of Opera Zurich and the Vienna State Opera. Since the 2014/15 season, he has performed as a freelancer, developing a broad repertoire.
His guest engagements lead him to the Bavarian State Opera, Vienna State Opera and Volksoper, Opera Frankfurt, Komische Oper and State Opera Berlin, Opera Zurich, Tyrolean State Theatre Innsbruck, Theatre Klagenfurt, Chemnitz, Dortmund, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Teatro alla Scala Milano, Teatro Nacional de São Carlos Lissabon, to the MDR Sinfonieorchester Leipzig, Salzburg Festival and the Richard-Wagner-Festival in Wels.
Andreas made his Bayreuth Festival debut in 2015 as Fafner in “Der Ring des Nibelungen” and played Titurel in a production of “Parsifal” for children. Other Wagnerian roles include King Mark in “Tristan and Isolde”, Titurel at the Beethoven Festival in Warsaw, Hunding in a new production of “Die Walküre” at the Hungarian State Opera Budapest, Fasolt and Hunding in “The Ring” cycle during a return to Bayreuth in summer 2016 and Daland in a production of “The Flying Dutchman” for children.
