“The Flying Dutchman in the Community” outreach programme kicks off.
AUGUST
14 August – Juliana shares her experience in arts volunteerism with Republic Polytechnic students in sharing session on “Arts Managment: Work or Play?” Joyce Teo moderated the session.
16 August – Choristers start movement classes with choreographer Aaron Khek.
18 August – Juliana updates Mrs Eva Wagner-Pasquier & Mr Horst Eggers on TFD project in Bayreuth.
20-21 August – Wagner Weekend (library@esplanade) featuring members of RWA(S) and TFD Director Glen Goei Hosted by Dr Ong Yong Lock & Suon Kuok
SEPTEMBER
Goethe Institut Singapur polishes up German diction of singers.
TFD blog goes tri-lingual, in English, German and now, Mandarin!
TFD Fund-raising Committee wraps up activities with gratitude to all donors, sponsors and supporters. Adequate funds raised and 145 Friends of The Flying Dutchman recruited.
Second Children’s Opera Workshop (SAFRA)
23 September – Music Director Darrell Ang works with Schola Cantorum
24 September – Schola Cantorum sings at ION Orchard bringing The Flying Dutchman into the Community.
26 September – Asian Cast rehearsals kick off.
27 September – Glen & Tze Chien share TFD on radio 93.8.
OCTOBER
3 October – Schola Cantorum performs at German Unity Day at W Hotel, Sentosa Island
4 October – International Cast starts rehearsals.
23 -30 October – Showtime! The Flying Dutchman plays to full houses and receives critical acclaim.
